Summer Dreaming

Seriously this cold is just uninspiring. I need one of those SAD lamps so I can lounge around in my apt in my favorite summer frock like this chick.

Sick

Moral Dilemma

So I was recently invited to join Rue La La, an online shopping boutique that offers HUGE discounts on fabulous overstocked goods. Not only am I addicted to this site, I have found my latest obsession in a bag. Please note exhibit A and B. Let me also point out this bag is navy- well they call it Ink. The catch with Rue La La is that you have to be invited.*

My current bag is the Red Havana Hobo by Hayden- Harnett and while obsessed with HH I am totally disappointed because it's been falling apart since week 2. I am just too lazy to replace it or send HH an email regarding the terrible state of my Havana.

Back to the the task at hand. Behold the "Chola" (A) and the "Crocetta" (B) by Gustto... the amazing South of France designer. I have 1 DAY to decide whether or not I need this. So before this post I went to my go to Sarah for input but thought I would also bring it here too. The bags are comparable in size B is slightly bigger then A. I don't know if I am going to take the plunge... but maybe if I sell the Saab this week I can do it! Cross your fingers!

Niagara

Niagara starring Norma Jean is the quintessential classic old movie. A beautiful woman, a murder, mystery, and suspense. No doubt it is one of my favs. So you can imagine my excitement when Casey and I decided to take a little side trip off our journey from the east coast back to Chicago. The weather was just about to get bad when we ventured out into the cold to see the magnificent Niagara. It was really incredible. It was really cold and icy. Towards the bottom of the falls there were huge icicles that looked like stalactites. I wish I got a Marilyn esq shot in front of this bad boy... but here is what I did get!

We're back...

16 hrs, lots of snacks, 8 diet cokes, 1 hotel room, and a TON of snow Casey and I are back. I will have some pictures up tomorrow!

Road Trip

Who would have thought that it would be hard to find car inspired jewelry but alas I scoured the internet in search of images for this post. This necklace comes from Beebles, a fellow Etsy seller who specializes in Tag'd Jewelry. Looking at the store made me want to live in the Bronx. Unfortunately this beaut is gone but I am sure there will be more in the future.

Alas back to the purpose of this post tomorrow I am heading home to the 'Cut to get a car from my sister and drive it back to the Chi with my boyfriend. I am so excited about the 17 hr drive it's insane. We've been getting ready for weeks- playlists, snack lists, packing, road games, practicing driving stick, and now it's here. I am so excited to embark on the open road!

My dear friend Catherine is working hard on the marketing campaign for the inaugration and I just can't get enough of the Runway to Change collection. Designers like Tori Burch, Diane von Furstonberg, Zac Posen, and Alexander Wang (featured here) have created Tee's, scarves, and totes to celebrate, what is sure to be, one of the most anticipated days of 2009. Don't you just love it?!?!
