Holiday Party!

I am throwing my first jewelry party at my house and would love to be able to give my guests a pair of slippers upon their arrival. We have carpeting in our new apartment and it's off white and weather in Chicago has been digusting this week. I would love to claim the idea as my own but it's totally a Martha Stewart trick.

Look what just made my Christmas list...
Thanks LL Bean and D&D for inspiration.

Level

My weekend kicked off with a trip to the MCA for their first Friday event. It was an interesting scene with a lot of single ladies. I did snag this from the gift shop though. It's a level ring. I love it and haven't stopped being enamored with it. It actually works too! Check it out.

To be Michelle Obama

Michelle is one lucky lady these days. For a lot of obvious reasons but in my opinion the best part of her life right now is having the top designers from all over the world design her potential inaugural ball gowns. Shown here is Koi Suwannagate's sketch. I think Mich would pick this one because it's stunning and it's by a not-as- well- known designer.

I also love MJ's look...and Michael that cobalt is smashing...
Also worthy of note... Leanne Marshall!
Thanks to Coco+Kelly for directing me to this.

Also please be sure to check out these guys. You gotta love Chris March!

Michelle, if you're reading I think this would look absolutely stunning with any of the aforementioned dresses.

Straight through my heart.

I am loving this necklace by Deka Ray. I would just be concern that the arrows would poke me. There is nothing worse the poking or loud jewelry. This chick has some really cool ideas. Definitely worth checking out. I discovered this piece on Gargyle. I am now going to email them to see if they'd be interested in picking up some of my pieces...

Shake it.

Today's Daily Candy NYC introduced me to Catbird and Elisa Soloman's brilliant Shake Necklaces. I love this idea because I can not tell you how many scraps of beads, sterling silver, and gold I have and for some reason I haven't been able to create magic out of them.

Also worthy of notation: letter earrings by Cat Bird. Hello EO. Or FU. For my Alma Mater of course ;)

Snow

Welcome December and Chicago winters! This morning there was a shallow white blanket covering the ground outside my apartment. It's increasing getting deeper and at first I was not pleased to see the sight of snow but am definitely enjoying watching the snow fall outside. Also what better way to get in the Christmas spirit? This necklace is Tarjay and only $20... how cute and festive! Also the perfect gift at the perfect price! Did I mention it's sterling silver?

Break time.

Today I take a break from jewels to show you the amazing craftsmanship of this amazing sweater rug. Flocks is an amazing knitwear company out of Amsterdam and is brilliantly hand crafted. I would love to see this bad boy on my already carpeted apartment floor- or on my bed. Look at this dedication....

I just love it!

Welcome Weekend

What a week. Although I didn't work a lot this week, I managed to work a lot this week. I am definitely looking forward to some good times with friends this weekend. I would just love to wear this Alex and Chloe 14ct gold Can Tab Necklace. How cute.

Break out the bling

Let's all take a moment of silence to appreciate the full beauty of these Boulder Opal Earrings.

Thank you Irene Neuwirth for creating some of the most breathtaking earrings I have ever seen. I didn't want to tell you this but... they are roughly $18,000. Yes that's three zeros. I will never have the luxury of wearing these guys but I love love love them and am so happy to be blogging about them.

Special thanks to Kate, Kelly, Mel, Tina, Millie, and Casey for coming out last night. It wasn't a huge success but who needs success when you have great people in your life. Thanks guys!

Luck

Boy am I going to need it tonight! I have a show this evening and am hoping to really sell a lot of pieces. My collection is looking really solid and I hope the lower gas prices and the holidays being right around the corner encourages people to buy... a lot. I am channeling Erica Weiner creator of this four leaf clover (which by the way is currently sold out.) Isn't it fab? The little brass pendant on the side says "One leaf for fame, one leaf for wealth, and one leaf for a faithful lover, and one leaf to bring glorious health, are all in a four leaf clover." Lovely.

One more announcement... The Marie Francis was on the Etsy home page yesterday afternoon! I received over 400 hits! So exciting and a good sign for the evening.

Sparkles!

This sparkle cluster stuff is really inspiring. Here are the Iosselliani crystal cluster earrings at the CO-OP. Notice the little skulls on the ends... subtle and fitting with the color palette.

Happy Birthday Casey!

Something to Sparkle up your Monday

I'm glad Vera has taken a break from creating yet another wedding dress to give us the Glass Segment Necklace. Oh. La. La!

Happy Friday

Happy almost weekend from Mesi Jilly.

Labrodite is kind of rocking my world lately, I love the iridescent sheen this stone has. Currently I am in the midst of crafting my good friend Lombo a ring out of an oval cut I have. Meanwhile, my other pal Nana, is rocking it on a necklace I made for her.

I am feeling very inspired this week and am gearing up for a show next week. Cross your fingers for lots of EileenEO's to get sold and maybe some future business as well.

Have the best weekend ever.

Gimme Metal.

Oy vey... I just love love love the idea of multiple strands of metal, especially when it's precious.
Here is Luxsten's multi- stranded version. Totally reasonable at $100 too! I've seen something similar at a fabulous upscale Chicago Boutique but am still awaiting word on who it's by. Believe me once I find out it will be on here.

Lost?

Living in a city is great when you know it inside and out- but every once in a while I get lost. Especially when it's the holidays you find yourself running around and forget where the perfect little gift shop is. I think I am also drawn to this piece because of my love of the sea. Either way kudos to LeeAnn Herreid who creates all the wonderful pieces at Individual Icons.

Brrr.

It's freezing in Chicago today. Snowed a little bit yesterday. Boo. Then there is Lizzie Fortunato's jewelry... just warms me right up. This is the La Punta.

It's actually a poker chip from Uraguay. I just love the ships wheel.

Keep warm!

Zip me Up!

I've been on quite the Arrested Development kick. Since it's Friday I thought I would honor this amazing show with this fabulous necklace by Miss Bibi. Or maybe you'll like Tatty Devine's better. Now I might be going on a tangent with zippers but remember Jeffrey Sebelia's signature piece from the Project Runway finale? I love the way he used zippers in this...

So incredibly sexy

I love Charlize... but take a gander at the Breil Milano necklace from the Soffio collection. Those are rose gold nuggets. In the lastest Harpers there is an ad and she's wearing them with a deep v neck dress... very sexy!

Victory

I was very privileged to be able to be in Grant Park last night celebrating Obama's victory with my good friends and boyfriend. I feel very inspired by his words and am looking forward to Change. I will also mention that we got to not only meet but high five some other amazing people.

Vote.

Please vote!

This wreath is from Dogeared.

I love the organic composition of this wreath and would love to see it hanging on my front door. It's hard to believe that it's from Dogeared! They are famous for simple statement necklaces on gold and silver. They also just signed a deal with Nordstrom!I hope someday my jewelry to someday share the fame of this fabulous company.

Oh La La.

Check out this vintage blue diamond earrings by Tiffany and Co. The deep blue is so sexy! I also love how they are set with just 4 posts making it all about the stone. They're definitely on my fantasy Christmas list.

State side

I just love Maya Brenners States Collection. Here is my new state IL. Check out that ice on the Chi! I wish I could have the CT version with a diamond over Stonington... or a Sapphire. Maybe even both IL with CT.... oh the possibilities!

Obsessed

I just love this Iosselliani Triple ring at the Co-Op
